[1] Interior of the Seattle Public Library Living Room, Platform 3
[2] Escalator into the Stacks, Platform 4
[1] This photograph gives a great perspective on the scale of the living room area of the Seattle Public Library, where people have a warm, open space to read and enjoy literature, as well as use the computer lab and work on research. The sloping glass and steel wall brings in lots of natural light, even with the rain and clouds that frequent Seattle.
[2] This photograph shows how the lines of the building (in the form of the escalator handrails and the lines of the hallway) bring your eye towards your destination, the top of the escalator. The glass walls allow you to see the immense number of books that are stored within the stacks.
