This is a drawing of the Seattle Central Library's building section. I wanted to capture how the five floating platforms of the building and their different purposes shaped the exterior of the building. The architects' design of the building places interior function and program as the main priority, instead of letting the exterior design restrict the functionality of the library. The building section captures this the best, and shows how the five platforms are laid out within the building. I labeled my drawing with the functions of each of the five platforms, and I think it really helps to show the sectioning of the building by purpose.
